Brewers fans are cashing in on decade-old $1K ticket promotion for World Series tickets
Way back in 2015, the Milwaukee Brewers were not a World Series contender. They collapsed in the second half of the season in 2014 and then had an abysmal 68-84 record in 2015. It was a tough time to be a Brewers fan, but the team did something interesting. They offered fans what might be one of the the coolest promotions in baseball history: Pay $1,000 for a ticket to any future Brewers home game. Not just any regular-season game, either. We're talking Opening Day, the playoffs, or even Game 7 of the World Series.
Eleven years later, that gamble is looking like an absolute steal.
With Milwaukee headed to its first World Series in more than four decades, a handful of incredibly patient Brewers fans are about to turn their $1,000 investment into one of the hottest tickets in sports.

The promotion, appropriately called the "Timeless Ticket," looks like the gold bar-looking version of Willy Wonka's Golden Ticket. For $1,000, fans received a personalized, one-pound brass ticket that could be redeemed for any future home game. The team sold just 1,000 of them, bringing in a cool $1 million.
It was genius marketing and a great way to receive an influx of cash. It was an interesting and innovative way to get fans excited while the play on the field couldn't do the same.
The Brewers even advertised that the ticket could be used "whether it's this season, the year 2050, or the 7th game of the World Series." At the time, the latter sounded like a pretty good joke. Milwaukee hadn't appeared in the World Series since 1982, when the Brewers lost to the St. Louis Cardinals in seven games.
But the beauty of the Timeless Ticket was that it never expired. Fans could hold onto it for decades, waiting for that perfect moment. Now that moment has come.

Fast-forward to 2026, and those patient fans are sitting on something pretty valuable. According to Gametime, the cheapest available resale ticket for Game 1 of the World Series is currently listed at a whopping $2,681. Even seats in the upper reaches of the stadium are reportedly fetching more than $3,500.
And here's where the deal gets even sweeter.
Timeless Ticket holders also have the right to purchase up to three additional tickets at face value, subject to availability.
In other words, someone who spent $1,000 on what seemed like an outrageous baseball souvenir more than a decade ago could now have the opportunity to bring the whole family to the World Series without paying today's eye-popping resale prices.
Not bad for a chunk of brass that's been collecting dust for 11 years, but here's the catch.
Unfortunately, owning one of these golden tickets doesn't mean fans can simply stroll up to the ballpark, flash their shiny brass souvenir, and demand a front-row seat. The Brewers require ticket holders to submit redemption requests, and the team has made clear that World Series seating is subject to availability.
