Comer indicates McConnell staffers aiming for lawmaker to return to Senate later this month

Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., indicated on Thursday that he has been in contact Sen. , R-Ky., staff, who have indicated that the aim is for the lawmaker to return to the Senate later this month.

"I expect that. I sure hope so," Comer said after being asked if McConnell was expected to join his Senate colleagues on Sept. 14.

Comer said he had talked to McConnell staff, who have "said its their goal for senator McConnell to be here… when the Senate" returns.
