Ukrainian drones struck residential buildings in Belgorod, western Russia, injuring at least 13 people, including two children, acting regional governor Aleksandr Shuvayev said on Sunday.
A four-year-old boy was hospitalized with shrapnel wounds to the chest following the large-scale attack on civilians, the governor wrote on Telegram.
Shuvayev said that at least four apartment blocks were damaged, while a private home and two cars caught fire. He added that an administrative building was also targeted, along with social and commercial sites.
Belgorod Region, which borders Ukraine, has repeatedly come under drone and missile attacks throughout the conflict.

Ukraine has stepped up strikes deep inside Russia in recent months, targeting energy facilities and warehouses operated by Wildberries, Russia’s equivalent of Amazon. Kiev has also launched a campaign to cut off supplies to Crimea, hitting civilian trucks and passenger buses in the process.
